In Edwardian times, women would wear flowers or scented hankies to perfume themselves. Aromatic oils have been used since they were discovered in ancient times. They not only added scent but people believed that the oils had healing powers, mentally and physically.
Essential oils have made a big comeback. There are many companies selling oils and now, we have clothing accessories to carry the oil and scents with us.
Necklace diffusers are very popular and decorative at the same time. This necklace has an open tree design to let the oil permeate the air and allows the scent to rise up where you can smell it. The felt pads for the inside of the pendant, are where you would add several drops of your favorite oil. Mine is lavender or tea tree. There is a notch on the side of the pendant to open it like a locket and insert the oiled felt pad.
It is made of surgical steel and should not discolor from the oils. The matching 24" chain is sized to carry the weight of the pendant. Where the pendant hooks onto the chain, there is a lobster clasp to remove the pendant easily for refilling the felt and not get the oil on your clothing.
