I nursed one of my babies, but that was ages ago. There was no nursing in public places at all. This product gives moms and babies the privacy they need to calm a hungry baby at an importune time. The cover is soft, lightweight, stretchy nylon tshirt-like material in a gray/green stripe design. On the top of the shirt they have sewn the shoulders, which makes it easier to figure out where the shirt is when you go to put it on. As it gives privacy and comfort to mom and baby, the baby isn't feeding in the dark. The material enables the baby to kind of 'see' at the same time doesn't distract them from the nourishment they are needing. It is machine-washable, folds up small to fit in a carry-all and doesn't wrinkle very much at all. It is also handy to cover up a carrier, stroller and more.
