It is so important to keep children out of areas that if they got into the items in a cupboard or closet, they would harm themselves. We have a storage cabinet in the church nursery that holds all of our craft supplies, including glue, scissors, staplers and other objects with sharp points. The magnet on the door isn't enough to keep those strong little fingers from prying the door open. These safety latches are designed so that it's more difficult for the child to figure out how to release the strap from the latch. On the reverse side is a 3m sticky patch that holds securely to a clean surface. I used one strap to keep the door closed and it's just a quick release for a teacher to press the button.
