I love to watch birds at a feeder and so do my cats. My other feeders are large and cumbersome to the point they don't fit on a shepherd's hook very well. Our other problem are...squirrels. They are so pesky and ravenous that they can clean out a feeder in one day. With this little feeder, I am able to place it near the house, enjoy the antics of the birds and refill it easily. The top just slides up and you pour the seed inside. It only holds enough for about a day. The birds found it immediately...and so did the chipmunk. But chipmunks are so cute that they are hard to resist. The squirrels showed up and they have a hard time going up the pole but they can still reach the feeder. I don't know if there is anything that can keep squirrels away especially when we live in the countryside of forested animals.
