I have cats and cats eat plants and plants need to grow and they can't grow in the dark. This is a light that I can use in my dark basement to give light to my starter plants. It comes with wires to attach so that you can hang it from a hook but it is so lightweight that I was able to put double-backed tape on the top side of the light and stick it to the underside of a cabinet over my counter. I have an electrical outlet right near it but there is a long enough cord to reach most outlets. The blue and red combo lighting emits a nice glow for my plants. The unit doesn't give off any heat, either, so it can easily be in an enclosed area and not worry about my cabinet burning.
