This is a great gadget to train your new dog to go outside. In the past, I've always just yelled or called the dog to get him to go out to do his doggy business. The concept is to teach the dog that the bells ringing means it's time to go out that door. Each time you think he needs to go or when he starts searching around the room, go ring the bells to attract his attention to the door and then open the door for him to go out. The bells are jingle-bell size attached to a nylon strap and looped to go around the door knob. If you want to put it on the wall instead of it jingling every time you open the door, then it has an attractive hook with screws and drywall inserts to install in on the wall. The bells are quite noisy and will certainly help your dog know 'where to go'.
