When you have babies or toddlers coming to visit, you will want to make your house as safe as possible. One of the areas that always make me cringe is a sharp edged surface that they could fall against. This product is designed to prevent serious injury to a child. We have a fireplace base that has a sharp edge and the corner isn't completed so there are several areas of danger for a child. The foam corner pieces are ideal to cover that spot and then the rest of the bumper goes right across the front to the other corner. Double-backed tape is all that is required to hold the bumper in place and that is included in the package. The bumper color is fairly neutral to blend in with most decorating schemes. This is a good answer to a possible child hazard.
