One of the newest inventions in kitchen gadgetry is silicone. These basters come in a set of 4. The brush tip is silicone and the handles are a opaque plastic material. I used my green one on a roast that I had put in the crockpot. To season the roast, I use a paste bouillon. The bouillon needed to be spread over the roast, so the silicone baster worked very well. It was easy to clean afterwards. I like the silicone because of the pliability of the brush 'hairs' to get an evenness of pastes and other spreadables onto the food. This is a nice set and one that I will use frequently.
