I have a dial cooking thermometer that I use for my Thanksgiving turkey. The only trouble is that it is very slooooow to register the internal temperature so that I can tell if the turkey is safe to eat.
This digital thermometer is FAST! My husband cooked this prepared dinner and needed to know if the microwave heated the contents to 165 degrees. So we tried it out on all of the foods. The only one that didn't heat evenly were the mashed potatoes. I love the digital read out. It is easy to see and can be set to read in Fahrenheit or Celsius. There is a long probe to go into the deepest part of a turkey.
We will definitely be using this on the barbecue also. Thumbs up to the designer!
