Thankfully, it was a mild winter and this summer hasn't had many major storms where we might have lost power to our home. I always have solar garden lights for just that emergency. You can bring them inside and stick them in a candle holder so that you home is illuminated. But they are difficult to carry in your car or camper and keep them charged.
Here is a great lantern that is powered by the sun with solar panels on the top. If you don't have effective sunshine to charge the panels, there is a hand crank on the side to give it power. When you are at home, you can recharge it through the electric adapter or with the USB cable into your charger or computer. Also included, is a car adapter for your cigarette lighter. The lighting is super bright LEDs and brightens the whole darkened room. This is another product that will go into our storage area of emergency items.
