It is the perfect size to fit in your hand or purse or bag. The bright light is something that you don't want to look into so it can be used to distract a threat by animal or man. The powerful beam adjusts by the pull of the focus ring near the lighted end. By pulling back on the rest of the light, you expose the flashing LED section and you can change it to a white or red light emission. The bottom end is magnetized to attach to an area that you need hands-free lighting. It would be perfect for when you might have a car breakdown and you can place the magnetized end on your vehicle so that you can change a tire or look under the hood. It takes four AAA batteries that aren't included. Because of the heft of the flashlight, it can also be a defensive weapon if you needed one. Great gift for Christmas and economical, too.
