Howdy All!

Sorry I haven't posted in a couple, but they've put me on full time for now. Maybe it'll be for a couple of months, I don't know. I'll do what God says.

This has been on my mind lately and I noticed it on a few other blogs, but worship should be expressive, don't you think? I mean, it can be calm and peaceful..just soaking in His presence but why can't we just be uninhibited and let ourselves be the creature He created us to be?
There must be more than just raising our hands, singing His praises or tapping our feet. Someone must have some suggestions, so let's share.

What does worship look like? I've found a few examples:

Or maybe something like this?

I think this one is my favorite:

It's pure, unadulterated, from the heart desire for the only One that can fill the hole in your soul.

Oh God, teach me now!

HI Debra,

I found that painting can be used to worship God. I used to paint whilst playing worship music. I felt so close to God. Also writing is another creative way of expressing praise and worship. Going for a walk and enjoying creation is an act of worship too.
Hope this helps.

Worship is not just what we do on a sunday morning at church - it should be a way of life. It is reflected in our work, relationships, family, attitudes - in everything!! We should not leave a church service on a sunday feeling "I got nothing out of the worship today.." We worship to bring a smile to God's face, to bring glory to Him - we should bring our offering of worship to Him, not be trying "to get something" out of it. If we surrender ourselves to Him completely we will Worship completely and freely.

When I sing to the Lord or Pray I often get on my knees, or dance or shout out loudly. I have even found myself protate on floor in the strangest places! My office, bedroom and living room.
We have flag and ribbons at church which people like to wave and twirl if they feel the urge to dance before the Lord.

Thanks for your input. Yes, it all helps. I just hope to reflect Him in my life and that's worship too. I guess I just envy those who seem to worship wholeheartedly..or maybe it just looks like they do. My worship is mostly quiet but I guess that's the way God made me, too. He wants us to be individuals just like we want our kids to be. He's so great!

Yes, thats right. As long as we worship Him in a way that will bring glory to Him. It doesn't matter what style of worship you yourself uses personally, we are not all the same.

Hi Debra,

Yes I agree with Spookie. I also agree with you. God gave us different characters. There is nothing wrong with quiet worship, especially if that's your character. God made you like that.
I can be a very noisy person but there are times I want to do something quietly and I can find it intensely moving. God has spoken to me in times of quiet worship and reflection. The important thing is not how but that we do worship.

Hi Debra, We sang Matt Redman's "Undignified" at homegroup last week and we had a good time dancing and rejoicing before the Lord.
Like Spookie we also have flags and ribbons. We also use art materials to draw and express our worship. We are a spontaneous bunch.

I also agree that worship is what we do with our whole life. It should be an offering of worship to Jesus

hiya, found you via tweenieworld.
Worship is such a passionate expression, reaching the heart of the Father in a personal and real way, whether it's individually or together, excellent discussion.
I adore the fridge photo, a picture of extreme desire to fulfil a need... this is so how I want to be with Jesus.
Thanks for the pictoral reminders of how I should be diving into worship.
