Helllooooooooo!

I tried to imitate the voice of Mrs. Doubtfire...

I'm still here, just working 7 to 3:30. It sure does take the day away. Life is good...yes!

Tonight's jammin' nite but no one has showed yet, so I'm taking the time to leave you all a note.

I found this in an email and thought it was cute:

"The "problem" with today's society, is that; (no one) knows how, to punctuate correctly, anymore?"

Isn't it so true! I saw a sign that was professionally printed from a lumber company.

It said "Conklin Residence" get their lumber delivered for free. (instead of 'residents'.)

Now, someone at the lumber company printed it wrong and then the sign company just copied what was written. Doesn't anyone check word usage anymore?

Proper spelling was a definite course in my day. What's up with this?

Lovely :-)

We've all got super busy of late! How is work going? Must make for an early start?

Been thinking of you.

HI!! Missed you Debs!!
I think people are just too rushed to stop and check things these days - and plus computers do all the spell checks for us, which has made us lazy too. Anyway... good to see you again, enjoy your jammin session....

Karen: thanks for thinking of me. I really need prayers in this job. The job is easy but the politics are hard for a Christian. I'm very saddened by the lack of integrity in government. If this is where God wants me, He'll have to supply more support. One can't change it, two can pray together, but it'll take the Army of God to change it.

Spookie: I missed you too! Back online now.

God bless you both.

Hi Deb, gosh that calls for an early morning.!!!

We are having the same troubles here with spelling . Kids are hitting univertity with troubles in spelling and reading.

It has happened since they started teaching phonetic spelling and whole word recognition.

On the news this week a parent is taking a top private school to court for failng to teach properly!!!

Hi Debs,

Yes, I know what you mean. Put spelling together with made up words that are now coming into everyday language. It's crazy but no-one is allowed to say that's wrong because no-one is allowed to fail, allowed to be wrong. We all right and all perfect according to today's society. It's madness.

I hear you. I know I'm not perfect when it comes to spelling, but for some reason when I read something that was done by someone else - a book or whatever, it bugs me and I feel like I should get a red pen out and correct it...then I try to get over it and move on LOL.

My sentiments exactly. I'm old school.

Hi Debra,

Just noted your comment on my last poem. Yes, I would be happy for you to use this on your church bulletin.
Thank you for asking. I'm thrilled.
Hope you're well and thanks for your comment on my latest post

Hey I an totally identify with the spelling thing... When I was a school extra care was given to spelling.. but now with computers, I agree with Spookie... we have just become lazy, over tollerant beings!

Let´s go back to the grass roots....
